Sorry, it’s been forever since I have posted anything. I kept thinking, “I need to get an 18 month post done. I need to share more…” but life gets busy, I get tired, and not much gets blogged.
18 months, and hard to catch for a good picture
So Jackson is 18 months old now. He is a little mimicking, jabbering, defiant, sweet little boy. He learns things quickly, has a quick temper, but the biggest smile. I feel like he is quickly running into the “terrible two’s” but without the vocabulary to help him get his point across to everyone.
And the boy loves to eat, anything and everything for the most part, but he definitely has a sweet tooth. He’s in the 70th percentile for weight and 28th for height, so he is built like a little ox. He wants to do everything himself, but sometimes his short little legs don’t allow, like going up and down the steps like a big boy instead of on his butt.
He enjoyed playing with all of my cousin’s kids at my grandpa’s 93rd birthday a few weeks ago… he is the 33rd of soon to be 35 great grandchildren. He played so hard he actually took a TWO HOUR nap under the coat rack while everyone else chatted.
Our family with my grandparents, who have been married 65 years! So sweet.
that’s a lot of great grandkids… and it’s not even all of them.
fell asleep on grandpa’s lap.
He now “cheeses” every time a phone/camera is in his face, which gives us delightful pictures.
Otherwise we had a great Easter, just the three of us at home. Jackson did his first egg hunt and quickly figured out that the eggs had candy in them, but he wasn’t super impressed with the Easter bunny.
On Sunday we went to church, Jackson scattered plastic eggs all over the house, and we played outside and worked on the yard because the weather was beautiful… and because we are realistically looking at moving in the next few months 🙂
We have both applied for jobs east river near Sioux Falls. It will be a big undertaking, but with lots of changes happening in our family, we feel like now is the time to move and be closer to extended family. I am trusting God as we undertake this very big change and journey. And if we stay, we are happy with that for now, too. It is nice to be in a place in our lives where we do not have to make changes, but have the option to move if we so desire.
I hope all is well with my blog friends. I do still get on my reader and keep up, just find it difficult to write regularly these days.
